Happy Monday Friends!
Today I bring to you a mixed media canvas. I mixed materials with leftover scraps from previous "Scraps of Elegance" kits. It's hard to tell what paper I used because I painted, misted, textured EVERYTHING!
Stop on by the Scraps of Elegance online store and check out the kits and goodies available!
I created this canvas for my niece. She is standing with her children on the beach at night. I loved the vibrant colors on the photo so I decided to use this creation for the Lindy's Stamp Gang August color challenge.
I mixed various Lindy's colors for this creation. I used a mixture of Royal Emerald Fire and Caribbean Blue to get the aqua color for the challenge. That was the main color I wanted to use to accent the color in my nieces dress. I added touches of Mountain Lavender Gold (in this month's Scraps of Elegance kit) here and there.....just a hint. I mixed Cotton Candy Pink and Autumn Maple Crimson to get the darker mauve pink for the challenge. I painted touches of metallic gold acrylic paint here and there. I went over the gold area by brushing on Canna Lily Burnt Orange. I added that awesome piece of trim at the upper left corner. I sprayed that with various mists also. I received that piece from Lee- "Scraps of Darkness" member. Thank you Lee!
I was inspired by a combination of designer's.....I love the vibrant color choices Lizzy Wurmann uses on her creations and the wonderful textures of Finnabair. They are both inspiring ladies!
You can see the sheen from the Royal Emerald Fire Glitz Spritz.
I added various beads and shells from my scrappy stash.
Here you can see the aqua's and deep pink colors I went with for the challenge.
I used a circular sewing template as a stencil and it created a honeycomb effect by using molding paste.
Thank you for stopping by!
