SAVE A RECIPE - CANVAS CORP BRANDS

Happy Hello Friends!
and
Happy May Friends!

Well, it looks like it's going to be a gorgeous day out this morning so I'll be sure to enjoy today's weather here in PA!  First I want to share a fun and simple project I created for the "Save a Recipe" challenge at Canvas Corp Brands.

Of course I like to cook and bake, that is when I'm not creating!!  In our house we have a saying!!! "Fat Friday!".....That means I cook and bake a lot of fattening foods and on "Friday's" our family treats ourselves...I believe you gotta have one day a week to eat whatever you want and still stay happy and healthy.  So this Friday and last Friday was a family fave - Steak Quesadilla's - I marinate the steak in a "spicy sauce" load the steaks on a flour tortilla covered with various shredded cheeses.  Bake about 8-10 minutes until the cheese melts....Cut them into triangle wedges for dipping!!  My son loves spicy picante sauce.....I eat mine with sour cream, picante sauce and shredded lettuce, peppers.  Diced tomatoes and onions go great with it too!  You gotta save some room for chocolate cake with peanut butter icing! hehe - O'h well, today it's back to the same ole same ole healthy "but good" foods!

So my recipe project was done in a matter of no time.....I started with an old recipe box I had for years.....Yes, it got a little shabby looking over the years so I decided to cover it with the "Pots and Pans on Ivory" paper....CLICK HERE

I had to remove the brass metal hardware first! Wow! This box really is "old and worn"!!!
I covered the front and top of the box with Mod Podge first and lined up the paper - (making sure the wording wasn't covered by the "Recipe" hardware.)
My kitchen is blue and ivory so I decided to mist the paper with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist Navy Blue
You can see the black cording in the above photo.  I needed to break out the cordless drill to make larger holes for the cording to fit through...
The cording is available HERE!
This project was fun and not the norm for me.....I generally can't stop adding details but I needed to keep this project simple.
Don't forget to stop on by THE CREATIVE STUDIO and check out the recipe inspiration!

Have a great day!
