SCRAPS OF ELEGANCE - "Kit Reveal"

Happy Friday Everyone!

Today I'm sharing two projects from the new January 2014 kit from:
 "Scraps of Elegance"

I love working with the color add on in each kit and I had taken a photo of my son sitting on the floor in the dining room last month so when I saw the papers from "Heidi Swapp" I wanted to do something fun, artsy, and whimsical.  I'm always inspired by Brit Sviggum and our own Lisa Novogrodski and love when they incorporate cut out photo's to their layouts.  I love the fun 3D effect!  My son is getting too old for me to accent his photo's with my usual style of  lace, romantic, feminine, beaded elements.....Although I added some lace trim from the kit and colored it with the vibrant blue color add on.
I used the stencil from the "embellishment add on" with the kit.  I added the "Pink Grapefruit" Silks Acrylic Glaze mixed  with red acrylic paint and added it to molding paste to get the color variation on the stencil work.
I cut out some of the tiny flowers from the "Kaisercraft" paper included in this month's kit.  I added them to the bottom of the page and throughout the "Blue Flame" colored lace....
I drizzled on the blue acrylic glaze from "Luminarte" (Silks -Blue Flame)  Just for fun and to add color.....
The background behind the photo is a combination of "Pink Grapefruit" Silks Acrylic Glaze and red acrylic paint mixed with molding paste.
My next project is totally different.  I created a romantic, feminine, vintage page based on the gorgeous sketch by suepup:
The sketch is so shabby elegant I had to do something vintage when I saw it. So my first choice of paper was the vintage inspired frame die cut from Kaisercraft:
I love the little lace doilies included in the kit so I bunched them together with some of the petals from the flower add on....I colored the petals by misting and painting them.
I added touches of  "Viva" Gold Rub from the color add on previously available with the December kit.  A little goes a long way!
I distressed the paper behind the photo by wetting it and creating folds and wrinkles to give it a fabric effect.....
I added some of the "Pink Grapefruit" Silks on to the photo rubbing it in with my finger.
I added the lace trim to this layout also.  I did not color it.  It is a very pale blush color.  It's beautiful!
Stop on by the ~Scraps of Elegance~ and grab this gorgeous kit today!
Have a great day!
