CANVAS PAIR - Tresors de Luxe Project

Happy Friday Friends!

Today I'm sharing another design team project using the gorgeous laces from:
"Tresors de Luxe"

I'm constantly asking family members for ideas and requests.....I like to try new techniques and create something unique and individual.  I received a request from my sister for Christmas.  She wanted a beach them canvas creation.  She told me bronze, pales blues (dirtied), and off whites.  My vision was something weathered, white washed, with touches of bronze.  I started by painting the gorgeous lace with bronze acrylic paint.  I laid it out on wax paper and dabbed the paint on with a brush....
I used a gold tissue paper to cover the canvas to create texture and to add a gold glow to show through the misting/painting....You can see the gold glow behind the basket weave "painted" Venice lace.....
After the tissue paper dried I sprayed on various blues/aquas from "Lindy's Stamp Gang".  I went over that with watered down gesso.  To give it a shabby weathered look.
Before I started adding shells and embellishments I went over the canvas with a stencil from "Stencil Girl Products" to create texture.  When I bought the stencil I thought it looked like Coral....Now seeing it on the canvas, it reminds me of sandy pebbles....Either way I think the stencil worked well with this project....

The lace above the "basket weave" lace reminded me of little shells and I thought worked perfect with the theme.
Here is some close-up's under different lighting.  The above photo's lean toward more a green blue -  While the close-up's below look more pale blue.
I lightly painted over some of the shells/embellishments with the bronze acrylic paint and watered down gesso.
Don't forget to stop on by "Tresors de Luxe" online store  There is so many projects you can create using the gorgeous laces, embellishments, flowers, brooches, and more!  The laces are so versatile!  I have gone from creating vintage/Victorian themed to altered and mixed media....The projects are endless!

Have a wonderful day!
