Happy hello crafty friends!
~Scraps of Elegance~ "Rue des Rosiers" Kit:
Today I have two projects to share with you for reveal day! I happened to use two separate photo's of my son. Sometimes it's challenging to create boy pages using gorgeous elegant papers but I think I pulled it off.
I was able to add more feminine elements because my son was 4 months old in this photo. I lost the larger photo of this in the flood two years ago. I was so happy to find this smaller one stashed in with my scrappy photo's.
I used Webster's Pages papers for the layout and loaded on many flowers included in the add on for the kit. I made a few of my own flowers with the Webster's Pages papers.
I added a zipper to the side and did some punch work with a "Martha Stewart" punch. I used water color paints, gelato's, and mists to accent the blues/greens in the photo.
I used the "Heidi Swapp" love sticker, "Maggie Holmes" resin flowers, "Renea Bouquets" butterflies and flower add on. I cut apart one of the frames (included in the embellishment add on) with a banner. The banner was the colors I was using.
I used a "Prima" stencil and went over the stenciling with "Lindy's Stamp Gang" embossing powder.
My next project was more "down to earth" and a totally different look. I used "Bobunny" papers, flowers and stickers included in the kit. I was going for an earthy, country, rustic feel. I took this photo recently at the local state park. It was an area in never ventured to but I'm glad I did because I got that awesome background. The reason the colors in the photo are so vibrant is because I altered with "Pop Art" photo shop.
I used various mists/paints to accent the golden olive colors in the photo. I did some water color painting to extend the photo off the page.
I added texture by stenciling with molding paste. I altered the chipboard tag (included in the kit). I wrapped hemp twine around the tag misted, painted and cut work on the "Bobunny" papers. I extended the birds tail feather by adding a tip of a feather (included in the kit). I added another feather at the bottom right of the page.
I did some machine sewing surrounding the painted area. I added thick twine throughout the flowers. The frame behind the photo was included in the kit. I sprayed that with an olive colored mist by "Tattered Angels".
